Words To Live By – Mark Batterson

Do you believe this? I do. I think the choices we make today have a great effect on what happens a year from now. I think each decision leads to the next. The snowball effect which can be totally awesome or ridiculously bad. Depends on the decision you’ve made.

I think a lot about this stuff because I’m a believer in the power of our thoughts which leads to the actions we choose to take.

I also believe that the over night proclamations of huge, sweeping changes are bullshit.

Change takes time. It takes effort. One day at a time…one choice at a time…one moment at a time. You can change your life by making small choices that lead you in the right direction.  ‘They’ say that’s how changes stick. Little by little. One decision leading to the next.

But it all starts with you making that first decision to move towards what you want.

Are you moving?

Happy Friday!

  1. Great post Nikki! I definitely agree that what we do today greatly affects our future…the decisions that we make and the things that we do (no matter how small they may seem at the moment), if practiced or done daily, they definitely shaped up our future… I think we could actually perceive what our future is like based on our decision-making & action patterns! As the saying goes, “We reap what we sow!” 😊

  2. Yes, I am – I just signed up again with a wonderful yoga teacher and went to my first meditation/relaxation class this morning after a short hiatus and it feels great! You are right, the movement/decision doesn’t have to be a big one, micro-movements are sometimes better, it’s all good. Thanks, Nikki!

  3. Great post Nikki – full of wisdom on how to create change in a sustained way. This can be such an act of self-love, right?!
I moved to LA….looking at what’s next for me. You helped to remind me that all I need to do is take one step at a time.
Lots of love and have a wonderful weekend, Nikki 🙂

  4. Yes I’m moving but sometimes it feels like at a snails pace. But that’s okay, as they say, Rome wasn’t built in a day. Small steps will get us to our destination. Great post Nikki. Hope you’re doing well. xo
