Penguin Pointers – Observe

O is a really hard letter. I mean I was excepting  Q and Z to be tough…and I knew I really  had to get creative with X…but O? It was a thinker. 😉 Let’s jump in!

O=Observe

When we take the time to observe the world and people around us, we can learn so much. Staying locked in our little bubble of knowledge is short-sited. There is a whole world of information out there and by simply observing it, we can learn, grow and challenge ourselves to live broader lives.

We can even take it a step further and observe our lives, actions and beliefs.  Self-reflection is a wonderful key to growing.  It’s not necessary to beat yourself up or change your lifestyle all at once, but you can’t change things you don’t acknowledge, or heck…even realize about yourself. After observing your life, you can make small changes that lead to huge changes down the road.

I know people who have become runners…by doing the couch to 5K (this is not a hard program to start). Others who have lost a lot of weight, yet started by simply cutting soda out of their diet.

Taking the time to observe the world around you and the world you have created for yourself can truly open up so many opportunities (another great O word!!) that you may have missed if your focus is on what’s right in front of your face.

Happy Hump Day!

  1. Love love love this, Nikki! Exactly where I’m at right now. Taking some time to observe my life and see what changes (if any) I’d like to make. Good on the small steps too … I’m in a program for spiritual psychology where they are called “3 foot tosses” 🙂
    Love to you!!!
