Penguin Personified – Dream Big, Dream Often

This is the 2nd installment of ‘Penguin Personified’.  Each week I’ll put the spotlight on a blog that I think rocks, but also walks the walk so to speak. My mission here at Flying Through Water is to create a world of Penguins! Before you click away because you think I’ve clearly lost it….Click the link and see if you can buy into what I’m selling: Welcome To Flying Through Water

The readers digest version:

Penguins have little stubby legs. So short that they have to waddle about.  As we all know…they march hundreds of miles on those little buggers. They do the best they can with what they have.  They also have wings, but they can’t fly. Why? Because their little wings are stubby too.

But here’s the thing…here’s the magic.  Put that same waddling-no flying-penguin in the water and she SOARS!  Watching a penguin swim is like watching her fly through water. THIS is where that little one excels.  She makes due in some areas using sheer determination…because that’s life…but she has found her place to shine.

Flying Through Water is a reminder that we all have greatness inside us. We just have to find it.  The goal of this blog is to challenge ME…and YOU to shake things up….break free of our comfort zones and LIVE our lives to fullest.

This week I want to introduce you to Danny from Dream Big, Dream Often.

I wouldn’t be surprised if most of you are already familiar, but either way, I wanted to showcase his blog!

When I first started blogging at A Kinder Way, I had NO idea what I was doing. I was posting away waiting for people to pop in and wanting so badly to connect with other bloggers….but it was quiet…like I could hear crickets….quiet! I’d been at it for about 2 months when one Sunday I stumbled on to something called a Meet & Greet.  It was at…you guessed it…Danny’s blog. I had no idea how much my blogging life was about to change. I added my link and started clicking on other blogger’s links….the connections started almost immediately. I spent a good portion of the day there.

I increased my followers by 39 in that ONE day!

After that I started reading Danny’s blog every day and even reached out to him privately to thank him for his helpful posts. He is a genuinely nice guy who truly wants to promote other bloggers and bring this community at WP together.

He taught me a very valuable lesson….what you want for your blog…you have to be willing to do for other bloggers.

Read, like, comment, share….genuinely…not with an ulterior motive of getting them to do the same thing, but because you are truly interested in what they have to say.

(My followers and community doubled after just a couple of weeks of getting my figurative bum out there into the WP world!!)

So what does Danny bring to that table:

He re-blogs daily to his 40 thousand (plus)followers.

He has a daily post called Blog Networking where he shares links to blogs. Every day!!

He has a Question of the Day that not only makes you think, but also can help inspire connections and conversations between bloggers.

He holds Meet & Greets every weekend!

He also started a You Tube Channel recently where he covers a wide variety of topics that include helpful info to fellow bloggers.

Here is one of my favorite videos from his channel

And did I mention he’s a heck of a nice guy!!

His entire attitude (and this man is a straight shooter…there is no fluff here) about getting out there and living the life you want is exactly what makes him the perfect Penguin.

Do yourself a favor and check out Dream Big, Dream Often!

Thank you Danny, for being a Penguin Personified!

and  Thanks for Reading!
