Tried it Tuesday – Meliora

Hello and welcome to a new weekly post called Tried it Tuesday. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to incorporate some of A Kinder Way into this blog without it feeling out of place. Well one of my most favorite things to do over there was to review and possibly even introduce you to amazing cruelty free and or green products.

KINDER products!

I’m going to kick things off with a fantastic company called Meliora!

I was introduced to this company through a green subscription box. Meliora means ‘better’ in Latin. I love this slogan.

The company is run by Kate and Mike in Chicago! If you’d like to read their story…click here: History

Meliora sells laundry care item, cleaners and bath and body soap.

Today I am reviewing their laundry care items.

I’m going to be totally honest. I am picky about laundry soap. I’m happy to have added scent to my clothes and other wash, but I don’t want to be over-powered by that scent. I have a sensitive little nose and tend to stick to unscented soap because it’s normally far too perfumey for me.

My expectations are always low when it comes to things like this.

I received 4 different powdered laundry soaps and a stain soap stick.

Unscented, Lavender, Lemon and Lemon-Lavender-Clove.

The stain soap stick is unscented.

I used all the soap and went back for more. Twice so far!

This one is my favorite:

I get a HUGE container (35 ounces) that does 128 loads of wash in my HE washer.  It runs me about $15.00. That’s .11 cents a load. Yup. I like it. I did a quick search online and Amazon has Tide at about .30 cents to .19 cents a load for HE washers. Depending on your preference from liquid to powder.

This is an outstanding deal right?

So let’s get back to smell.

It’s lovely and soft and not even remotely over-powering. And remember…this is from a fussy gal!

I also put the stain soap stick to the test and it removed spaghetti sauce in one use!

So why is it Kinder?

Meliora is:

Cruelty free, Organic, Vegan and Toxin-free.

They have the MADE SAFE seal as well. If you want to know more about MADE SAFE click HERE

The quick and dirty: MADE SAFE is the first non-toxic seal from products in the USA.

They also pledge  ‘to give at least 1% of our annual sales revenue to non-profit organizations and causes aligned to a planet-friendly world.’

I can’t rave enough about this company.

Their products are awesome and affordable.  Their customer service is fabulous and they are walking the KINDER walk (almost strutting a bit at this point!)

Check out Meliora if you’re in the market for kinder laundry care, cleaners or bath and body products!

Thanks for reading!

  1. Thanks for sharing. I’ll have to look into them. I’m not a fan of lemon scented products, but I do love lavender. I’m thinking the lavender-lemon-clove may smell well too? I don’t like overpowering scents either! The girlie has skin sensitivity issues so right now I use unscented, but I’m not gonna lie… those HE washers do not clean very well (I can still always smell deodorant) and I’d like a little scent.

    1. I really liked the clove ones as well but the lavender is my favorite. I would encourage you to try it out if it sounds like a good fit for you. ❤ You can also buy small travel size laundry powder to see if you like it. With a HE washer you get 4 loads out of the small ones. They are 2.99 a tube. That's what I got from the subscription box…4 tubes…one in each scent. It was a great way to try it out. 🙂
