About Me

Hello and Welcome to Flying Through Water!

My name is Nikki and you may know me from A Kinder Way.  I’ve been blogging there for the past year and while it was wonderful, it was time to move on to something more inclusive. I was feeling a little boxed in and the need to spread my wings. That being said, kindness will always be important to me and a characteristic that I think out weighs all others. There will still be plenty of kindness here.

A little about me…

I’m an East Coaster living in the south. Married to a sexy bearded man who has been making me laugh for 20 years. We have one college age son (who shall remain nameless..but trust me, he’s awesome.) and 6 years ago we adopted a white fur ball of perfection named Vivi. She isn’t shy so you’ll see a lot of her around here. (Exhibit one…above)

I love dogs, Football (GO PATS!) reading, playing board games, sipping adult cocktails outside, anything to do with the TV Show Friends and I have a new found interest in all things Marvel….I’m talking to you Luke Cage!  I meditate daily, swear too much, cry too much, watch too much reality TV and laugh a lot.

I’m a cruelty free consumer and I’m passionate about equal rights for all.

I genuinely hope you will visit often and look forward to getting to know you!

Thanks for Reading!

  1. Just followed you on Twitter. I’m rooted in NJ but now planted in Western Mountains of New England. Also animal lover, advocate & cruelty free. Oh and did I mention PTSD? Great to see your new bog. Still getting the hang of blogging but I’ll get there.

  2. Hi Nikki,

I love your new blog, both the looks and the content. The name is very creative! I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award. Here’s the link: https://comeinsitdown.wordpress.com/2016/10/21/versatile-blogger-award/

Your participation is totally voluntary, you don’t have to accept the nomination. Should you decide not to take part, I will completely understand that and won’t be offended.

I however will appreciate it if you chose to accept it; I see the nomination process as a way to promote my fellow bloggers work across the board and to spread the word.

    Thank you and best wishes,
    Anna

  3. Great bio and great blog. Glad to have found you!

I particularly liked what you said about kindness. I find these days that kindness is too often considered a weakness. People sometimes seem embarrassed to have been caught being kind! To me, kindness, like other things, is something to nurture in yourself, to be practiced often. We have many seeds inside – anger, fear, kindness, compassion, jealousy, love, envy, generosity – and we have a choose about which ones to water, even if it doesn’t seem that way sometimes.

  5. Hello, Nikki:

I’m also a transplanted New Englander living in the South (although Florida isn’t exactly the state one thinks of when thinking “Southern”).

Been following your page for a short while – love the positivity and can use all I can get in today’s world!

Looking forward to the updated site and hope to pop in at least once or twice during the meet and greet.
